Active Dry Yeast – Lecker’s
Conventional yeast is grown on molasses using ammonia, ammonium salts and alkalis, synthetic vitamins, sulfuric and phosphoric acids. This organic yeast from Leckers instead uses mature yeast that is much more gentle on the environment but is just as versatile. Perfect for baking organic bread or delicious home made pies.
- Selected yeast strains are grown on a nutrient solution made from organic grain, clean spring water and enzymes.

As early as 1935, the Lecker family were manufacturing baking powder in the Bavarian town of Furth im Wald. Since then all their baking ingredients have been of biological origin and come from organic farming, for the sake of the environment and of course for a superior product.
By the way:
One sachet of Lecker’s organic yeast corresponds to ½ cube of fresh yeast and is sufficient for 500g of flour.
Mix the contents with flour (do not dissolve directly in liquid!) and process as usual.
For a pre-dough made from 500g flour, simply mix 100g flour with 9g Lecker’s Bio yeast, then add 100 ml warm water. After 1-2 hours of walking, knead the remaining flour with the batter.
Use a pre-dough for your pastries – the dough develops faster and thus ensures an even better taste.
